From the Parish Administrator
Dear Parishioners of STM & St. Louis,
The beginning of July always marks a turning point in the summer for families, the reality that it’s almost over but the reminder that there’s still time left to relax, enjoy, and celebrate. In many ways, July 1 for our parishes finds us in a similar place, recognizing that things are changing yet there is still much to celebrate.
I know there are lots of questions and concerns about what’s next. I know there are worries, anxieties, and fears. Let me be the first to say that I don’t have all the answers and some things will become clear in the next few months while others may take years for us to understand. Know this, the Holy Spirit has moved us to this moment in time and will guide us in the months ahead. I’m humbled that God has chosen to use me during this time of transition. We have had numerous conversations over the last few months and my heart is very much at peace. I know He is in control. As people of faith, we are constantly called to place our trust in Him. Will you join me in praying for the strength to entrust our fears and anxieties to Him?
I recently returned from my first trip across the pond to the home office in Italy. I’ve never been in so many churches in my life! Upon entering each church, I paused, prayed, and lit candles, asking God to make something new for all of us during this time. I’m thrilled that Fr. Pat Broussard will be joining us on this adventure. Even though he’s a newly ordained priest, he’s a man of many talents that will allow him to serve you with wisdom and love. Please allow both of us time to adjust and settle into our new reality. Together, we look forward to ministering in both communities.
We have an opportunity to birth something great from a difficult situation. There will be some labor pains, tears, and maybe even a few sleepless nights, but you know what, when the Christ-child was born, people traveled far and wide to meet Him. I’m inviting you to come along with me on this journey, to entrust your hearts to our God, and with great anticipation, to await what He brings forth.
