Time, Talent & Treasure
Equipped to Build the Kingdom
“Equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God.” St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians 4:12-13
Our Catholic Faith is active – Praying, Serving and Giving
At St. Thomas More Parish we are committed to the work of total stewardship. We actively give of ourselves in generous devotion, willing service and financial engagement. In gratitude for the many blessings God has given to us, please prayerfully reflect on how you may respond to God’s calling as you visit this area of our website.
Stewardship of Prayer
As we work to build the Kingdom, we devotedly pray.
To a first century church that knew his consuming commitment, St. Paul affirmed his support. Separated from them by distance, he nevertheless prayed for them at all times. That is our model. “With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones.” We pray for God’s blessing, his guidance, and his help on behalf of others, a celebration of active devotion.
As a community, St. Thomas More Parish dedicates a weekend to confirm our commitment to prayer. Parishioners are encouraged to pray together as a community during Mass and to grow in their individual prayer life.
Stewardship of Ministry
In our work to build the kingdom, we faithfully minister.
Affirming a spirit of unity, we willingly serve all those to whom God calls us, “through the bond of peace.” And the mark of our Catholic faith proclaims “one body and one Spirit, as we were also called to the one hope of our call: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” As one, we minister, employing unique and special gifts, examples of the “grace given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.”
St. Thomas More Parish has many active ministries through which its parishioners share their unique gifts in service to our parishioners and our community. Whatever your passion, we have a place for you. You may join our ministries at any time during the year. We also have several dedicated weekends during the year to learn more about our ministries. Please click here for a list of our outreach and community life ministries where you may use your gifts to serve others.
Stewardship of Treasure
To further our kingdom of service, we generously give.
“By grace you have been saved through faith,” St. Paul wrote, “and this is not from you; it is the gift of God. We are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance.” The loving sacrifice of our holy and sinless Savior is the ultimate standard of selfless generosity – God’s gift, through faith. When we give “for the work of ministry,” and “to build up the body of Christ,” we give to honor the One worthy of our ultimate devotion.
Our parish is very thankful that St. Thomas More parishioners are generous and trust in God’s providence. To sacrifice for the sake of others, for the sake of the Church, for the sake of those in needs, always produces much good, better than we can imagine. Our Stewardship of Finance commitment weekend will be February 3-4, 2018.
